This is a project which has been carried over from the Rotary year 2019/20 and could not be completed due to the ongoing pandemic.
The 1000 Youth Leadership Program is a program initiated by the Rotary Club of Colombo West in association with District 82 of Toastmasters International. In this program we intend to train 1000 school children in 40 schools throughout Sri Lanka to be youth leaders through the Youth Leadership track of Toastmasters International. This program consisting of 10 weekly sessions focused on building the confidence levels of youth who are currently studying in Grade 8 to 12 in tier-2 schools. There will be 30-35 students from each school with an expected drop of rate of 20% resulting in the passing out of 1000 youth leaders.
